A First display

Recently I took Season 26 out for the first display of the year. A location that I had never been to along with being at an event that was the first time being put on. These kinds of things can easily push you out of your comfort zone. Unknown people and unknown things. As well as moving The Project that at that point has never left the apartment.
First time taking The Project out can be a bit nerve wracking on it’s own. Despite all the experience in building. Despite understanding the material you work with. You still have no full idea of how The Project will handle being moved. Yet you need that first time so you know what to expect later down the road.
Going into a location that you’ve never been to. Doesn’t matter if it’s an event of some kind or parish display. It still can be a challenge to navigate the emotions, the worries, and the fears. You don’t worry about how many people turn out. Even if you reach one person that you’ve done what Christ is asking of you.
In this case their was not a lot of people at the event. But it also didn’t matter. This church had a very clear plan as to what they wanted to do. They also did a great job of following with it. I felt very welcome here. The hosts were very kind and very considerate of my needs. Even with a few minor issues with The Project.
The high point for me was seeing a few family members. They came out and spent a little time. Some have seen the work. Some have not seen it in a long time. It was good to visit and really make a great day even better. Now just praying for the next location to develop. -
