My Life is Prayer.

My work is prayer…

When I talk about The Lego Church Project. I often talk about how my work is a prayer. That I am spending countless hours building with LEGO and at the same time pouring my heart and soul in a silent prayer. Often putting a focus on things going on around me and the church as a whole. Not long ago someone on social media pointed out this statement to me from a recent interview  I gave earlier this year.

Praying At the Bricks goes well past what I do with The Project. Prayer has always been a core foundation that I've had. Enough that I've devoted a few articles about it. Some that you can find in this every space. For me prayer is one of the cornerstones of my Catholic faith. Something that I do often. Even at times when things are going some what stable. It has become such an important part of how I live my life.

What many people may not realize about me is that I tend to be a bit of a prayerful person. It is something that I learned early on while living in the shadow of the charismatic renewal. They have a strong focus on deep personal prayer and it is something that I have taken to heart over the years.

It is not uncommon for me to "keep things in prayer" though out the entire day. Often reflecting on the various issues troubling my heart and soul. For me it is an open conversation with God about what is going on around me. It gives me more than a little peace of mind knowing that God listens to us. It is also not uncommon for me to seek out the many of the saints that have gone on before us. Such as my frequent asking of the intercession of Blessed Solanus Casey.

Over the years I have come to rely on prayer in many ways that few ever get to see in person. The times when something is taking place and I pretty much start praying on the issue at hand. This desire to seek out the Lord in times of struggle. It is because of my own understanding of how prayer can shape our lives. Even when we don't always see the answers right in front of us.

The work I do with The Lego Church Project is important to me in so many ways. I would like to think though that what I am doing is a true reflection of how I see the importance of the faith overall. Of how things have developed in my own life. This is important to me as I am always trying to focus on prayer as I live my life as a deeply devoted Catholic.

"My work is prayer." Yet when you think about it. Our entire lives should be focused on prayer. We should make more time for it. Along with not hesitating to pray when the need arises. -
