Feastbearers – 33 Days to Jesus Through Mary
This is a 33-day journey to help children grow closer to Jesus in the Eucharist.
Each day includes a short reflection, a simple prayer, and a small action to help prepare your heart for Holy Communion.
You can do this journey at home, in school, or in a group setting.
Week 1 — Mary Leads Me to Jesus
This week, we begin our consecration by learning that Mary always leads us to Jesus. She listens to God, welcomes Jesus with love, and helps us open our hearts to Him.
Day 1 — Mary says yes to God
Scripture: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” — Luke 1:38
Teaching: When the angel spoke to Mary, she answered God with trust and love. Her yes was humble, brave, and full of faith. By saying yes, Mary welcomed Jesus into the world. She teaches us that when we listen to God and say yes to Him, we grow closer to Jesus too.
Reflection: Mary trusted God even when she did not know everything. Is there something small I can say yes to today because I love Jesus?
Little Action: Quietly say, “Mary, help me say yes to God today.”
Prayer: Mary, teach me to say yes to God with a loving and trusting heart. Help me follow Jesus each day. Amen.
Day 2 — Mary brings Jesus to us
Scripture: “And blessed is the fruit of your womb!” — Luke 1:42
Teaching: Mary carried Jesus within her and brought Him to Elizabeth. Wherever Mary goes, she brings Jesus with her. That is why we turn to Mary in this consecration. She does not keep us for herself. She gently leads us to her Son and helps us love Him more deeply.
Reflection: Mary brought Jesus to others with joy. Do I believe she can bring me closer to Jesus too?
Little Action: Place your hand on your heart and say, “Mary, bring me closer to Jesus.”
Prayer: Mary, you brought Jesus into the world with love. Please bring me closer to Him and help me welcome Him into my heart. Amen.
Day 3 — Mary helps me listen to Jesus
Scripture: “Do whatever he tells you.” — John 2:5
Teaching: At Cana, Mary spoke these important words: “Do whatever he tells you.” She points us toward Jesus and teaches us to listen to Him. Mary knows that true joy comes from obeying Jesus with trust. When we stay close to Mary, she helps our hearts become ready to hear His voice.
Reflection: Mary points me to Jesus, not to herself. How can I listen better to Jesus today?
Little Action: Spend one quiet minute asking Jesus, “What do You want me to do today?”
Prayer: Mary, help me listen carefully to Jesus and follow what He asks of me. Amen.
Day 4 — Mary keeps God’s word in her heart
Scripture: “Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart.” — Luke 2:19
Teaching: Mary did not rush past the things God was doing. She kept them in her heart and thought about them with love. Mary teaches us to be quiet with God, to remember His goodness, and to treasure Jesus in our hearts. Consecration is not only about saying words — it is about letting Jesus live deeply within us.
Reflection: Mary kept holy things in her heart. What good thing has Jesus done for me that I should remember today?
Little Action: Sit in silence for a short moment and think about one gift Jesus has given you.
Prayer: Mary, teach me to keep Jesus in my heart and to remember His goodness with love. Amen.
Day 5 — Mary is my mother too
Scripture: “Behold, your mother.” — John 19:27

Day 6 — Mary helps me give my heart to Jesus

Reflection: Mary loved God with her whole heart. What part of my life do I want to offer more fully to Jesus?
Little Action: Offer Jesus one part of your day today — your work, your play, your family, or your prayer.

Day 7 — Thank You, Jesus, for giving me Mary
